Privacy policy

Updated

Effective date: November 8, 2026

This policy explains what data HugeTimer (hugetimer.com) handles and why. In short: the tools run on your device, there are no accounts, nothing you type is uploaded, and the only outside services are hosting, statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics) and, once ads are switched on, Google’s advertising services.

Who is responsible

HugeTimer is operated by an independent developer. For any privacy question or request, write to contact@hugetimer.com.

Data that stays on your device

Timers, stopwatch laps, alarms, saved countdowns, Pomodoro tasks and settings are stored in your browser’s local storage under names that start with fullscreen:. They never leave your device. Share links keep their settings after the # sign of the address; browsers don’t send that part to any website. You can delete all of it with the button at the end of this page, with Clear my data in any tool’s settings, or by clearing the site data for hugetimer.com in your browser.

Camera, notifications and screen wake

The online mirror asks for camera permission only after you click to turn the camera on. The picture is shown on your screen and is never recorded, saved or uploaded, and the camera is switched off when you turn it off or leave the page. Notifications are only requested when you switch them on in a tool’s settings. Keeping the screen awake uses a browser feature that shares no data.

Statistics

HugeTimer counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies, and uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and tools are used, through anonymous events such as “a timer started” or “fullscreen opened”. These events never include timer labels, task or event names, typed colors or exact times. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address to estimate a general location; see Google’s privacy policy. It runs with Google Consent Mode: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland its cookies stay off unless you agree, and Google then receives only cookie-free measurements that can’t recognize you on a later visit.

Advertising

The site may show ads from Google AdSense below the tools. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings and through www.aboutads.info. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Once ads are live, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message from Google’s certified consent tool, and advertising and analytics cookies are only used if they agree. Visitors in some US states get a choice to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy settings in the footer.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare also adds the small, cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics script described under Statistics, which counts visits and measures how fast pages load.

Your rights

Where data protection law such as the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the legal basis for statistics and personalized ads is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; hosting and security rely on legitimate interest. You have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object or complain to your local data protection authority. Since HugeTimer doesn’t keep accounts or personal profiles, most requests are best handled by clearing your browser data or by contacting Google about its services. Residents of US states with privacy laws can use the opt-out choice described above.

Children

HugeTimer is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If this policy changes, this page and its effective date will be updated, and the change will be noted in the changelog.
